No matter if the tree is crooked or leaning I've always been able to get in it and keep my stand level. now if it was 5-6 lbs that'd be pretty substantial. The reason for me looking at the x stand is the LW is built 's a rock solid stand.the LW Assault II that I have weighs 12.5 lbs.so the 10lbs of the x stand isn't earth shattering. Has a unique bracket and leveling system I like in some ways, makes it easy to hang in difficult trees. Took a lot of work with hockey tape and stealth strips to silence it, but it is dead silent now. I feel confident in it but.it certainly doesn't seem overbuilt. What makes the Sit n Climb unique is the bar that allows the hunter to sit while climbing. This climbing tree stand is engineered out of 6061 T6 Aluminum, the lightest and strongest aluminum in the industry. Platform is actually a little bigger (wider) than I would prefer. The X-Stand Sit and Climb is based off of the great features of the X-1 Climber. Had all the features I was looking for and I don't buy the argument that stands need to be cast aluminum. Good and light, for that reason alone suprised this stand doesn't have more fans on here, but it is a heavily LW influenced crowd. ![]() I went with Helium sticks, the x stand sticks are way too bulky for me.
